About
Welcome to this space for teaching, learning about and experimenting with writing. Engaging and elegant writing can be found in many forms: factionalised research, computer code, mathematical script, narrative medicine texts…
How can we learn to write better, and how can we help others do the same? Here we share our ideas, joys and struggles, as we seek to understand what writing is, and what it could be, within and without academe.
To help us find some answers, we at CLeaR turned 2017 into our year of “Writing, writing everywhere” (WWE). We invited University of Auckland staff to come up with innovative teaching projects on writing. The outcomes of projects by SEED Fund grant recipients and CLeaR Fellows will eventually be showcased on this site.
Responding to our invitation, academic staff and students from across the University have also come forward with innovative ideas for symposia, workshops, hui or other events throughout 2017 that engage with the theme of writing. Those, too, we want to share, inviting you to join our quest for better writing and our conversation about it.
So watch this space fill with useful and unusual writing resources. Whether you are a student, academic or other kind of writer, take a look around and be encouraged to write more confidently, elegantly, passionately, productively, collaboratively… or simply more.
